Halvening (Halving)
The halvening refers to the 50% reduction of the block reward every 210,000 blocks. The halvening is also known as the halving – we acknowledge & encourage the use of both terms! Below is a table showing the halvening schedule and the block subsidy from Bitcoin’s inception through 2024 (and beyond):
